Cape Perpetua Elopement ~ Ashley & Kristian
Ashley and Kristian’s Cape Perpetua elopement last spring was the most beautiful day full of love, friends, and views of the majestic central Oregon Coast. This area of the coast is one of my absolute favorites and it was an honor to capture the special day for this wonderful couple.
Ashley and Kristian were in the midst of a weeks-long road trip from Minnesota when they married on the coast. Their closest friends flew in from different areas of the country to witness the couple’s vows in Oregon.
I met the couple and their friends at Cape Perpetua. They had scouted the area earlier that day, deciding where they wanted to say their vows. A little picnic area with plenty of privacy overlooking the ocean was the perfect spot. Ashley wore an incredible 100+ year old vintage wedding gown for their day and it was stunning on her. Kristian and Ashley shared a first look right at the picnic area before saying their vows.
After tears, laughter, and some photos near the picnic area after the wedding, we walked a short distance to the trails overlooking the ocean, then walked to the Cape Perpetua overlook for epic views.
Another reason this area of the Oregon Coast is an absolute favorite is that there is a huge variety of beauty and nature within a short distance. We all drove down from Cape Perpetua for some photos in the lush Oregon forests.
After the forest photos, Ashley, Kristian, and their guests went out to dinner together and we all met back up later on in the evening for some photos at the ocean. I love staying at the Overleaf Lodge or the Fireside Motel when I’m in this area. You can walk directly down to the beach from your backdoor and have the most amazing coastal views.
Ashley changed dresses for their beach photos and we walked along the shore and amongst the beautiful spring flowers. There was no sunset to be seen on this evening but it didn’t matter. The Oregon Coast shows off no matter the weather. It was such a fun day with all of these people and showed just how much love that Ashley and Kristian have in their lives with the people who care about them.
