Cannon Beach Engagement Session ~ Troi & Jeremiah
Troi contacted me saying that she and Jeremiah were traveling to Oregon and wanted to have a Cannon Beach engagement session before their wedding elsewhere in the country. This evening with this gorgeous couple was a dream. One of my favorite things about their session was that they told me they are awkward in front of the camera and they didn’t know how to pose, what to do, etc. This is a very, very common comment I get from people I photograph, and I get it! It’s awkward being in front of a camera. But I assured them I would give them prompts, encouraged them to be themselves, posed them when needed, and I loved how completely relaxed they were by the end of the evening.
Troi worked at a bridal shop and had the most stunning dress for their engagement photos, complete with pockets. The Oregon Coast was showing off and gave us a spectacular sunset and warm summer evening. They decided to get in the water a bit at the end of the evening, always one of my favorite parts of an Oregon Coast session.
In addition to the epic views in Cannon Beach, you can often see the herd of elk that call this place home. They roam the beach, the forests, and the town in the area. I arrived at Troi and Jeremiah’s session early to walk along the beach (as I often do) and as I was walking back to meet them, I had to message and let them know I couldn’t come to their parking area. We waited for the local residents to eat their snacks and move along. After the session, the elk were still in the area watching the sun set over the ocean. One can hardly blame them with these views!
If your plans are taking you to the Oregon Coast this year, I would love to capture the occasion! Heidi Heaphy Photography is now booking 2026 intimate weddings, elopements, and other portrait sessions. Contact me to chat.
