Cannon Beach Wedding {Nicole & Nathan}

Nicole and Nathan’s Cannon Beach wedding was years in the making after several Covid reschedules and hiccups. I had first met this sweet couple in the summer of 2019 for their engagement photos at the coast. Click HERE to see some of the photos from that day. While the wedding itself didn’t happen as originally planned, I was so happy when it did arrive last July on a beautiful (and busy) day at the Oregon Coast.

I got to Cannon Beach early to meet Nicole, her mom, and her bridesmaids at The Union Knot where they got glammed and ready for the big day. The very talented Brigitte had already finished hair and makeup, but I got to capture the ladies putting all of the finishing touches on. Nicole’s mom helped with her jewelry, the bridesmaids helped with her veil, and I captured some very special moments with these awesome women. The ladies toasted to Nicole and Nathan before heading out to meet Nathan for the first look.

We walked back to the Cannon Beach Chamber of Commerce where the reception would be held that evening. Nicole and Nathan shared a private moment for their first look before we all walked down to the beach for the ceremony.

Like I mentioned before, it was a very busy day on the Oregon Coast, but having people on the streets and on the beach share congratulations and well wishes for Nicole and Nathan was fun to see. The ceremony was perfect with Nicole’s dad acting as officiant as they said “I do.” Their sweet pup played a role in their wedding day as well.

After the ceremony on the beach, we walked the short distance back to the Chamber for photos of family, friends, wedding party, and of the couple. Of course their dog was along for these as well.

Nicole and Nathan share a love of Star Wars, so there were Star Wars details sprinkled throughout the reception. They had outdoor games and activities set up for the guests outside. It was a gorgeous evening to spend with them. They ate pizza and danced, toasted, cried, and laughed a lot.

As the sun started to set in Cannon Beach, I snuck the couple back to the beach for a few more photos of the two of them together, with a dress change for Nicole. They packed their lightsabers for some fun photos, they danced in the sunlight, and I brought them back to their reception to continue the celebration with their guests. It was a wonderful evening and I’m so glad it finally came to be!
