Covering the Oregon Coast {Vol 9} Lincoln City and Cape Kiwanda

On Mother's Day weekend, my boys gave me the gift they knew I would love: a getaway to the Oregon coast.  We spent Saturday night in Lincoln City but arrived in the evening when it was a bit cold and windy.We spent the night at the Inn at Wecoma, a place we have stayed at several times in the past.  Besides the delicious breakfast provided, the best part for our boys is always the swimming pool.  We spent plenty of time splashing and swimming before driving to Pacific City.It wasn't exactly planned, but this was the 2nd Mother's Day in a row that we spent at Pacific City and Cape Kiwanda.  To see last year's adventures there, click HERE.  We have spent several days here since then and it has become a favorite place at the Oregon coast.On this particular trip, we climbed all the way to the top of the big dune and down the other side, then back up and down again.  My legs were definitely feeling it the next day!While my husband and boys climbed up the sand dune the first time (those three people in the photo below are them), I stayed behind to see the tide pools before the tide came in.Then I joined them for another trip up the dunes and the views at the top of this place are always awe-inspiring.As we got to the very top, we watched paragliders taking off and flying above the ocean.  To see more of our family adventures at the coast, check out THESE other blog posts.Are you looking for an Oregon coast photographer for your family photos, elopement, or special event?
