Portland Elopement {Kari & Chris}

This downtown Portland elopement will always have a special place in my heart. Kari and Chris met online and both almost cancelled their first date on each other. When neither of them did cancel and they met for their date, the rest was history as they say. After two years together, they decided to elope with just their close friends, opting for a more stress-free wedding day experience.

Even with elopements, things don’t always go exactly as planned. Kari and Chris scrapped their original elopement location due to the unpredictable December weather and get married downtown at the Multnomah County Courthouse. It ended up being absolutely perfect.

I met the couple outside of the courthouse before their wedding time. We wandered the streets of downtown Portland which was so pretty decorated in winter lights. Bystanders congratulated the happy couple as we walked around. Kari’s faux fur shawl was perfect for the chilly Oregon weather.

When it was time to go to the courthouse, we went through security and waited in the lobby for their friends to join. It was such a fun experience taking photos around different areas of the courthouse. Kari and Chris were married in front of the judge as their loved ones looked on. Everyone cheered as they said their “I dos.”

Are you wanting to elope or have an intimate wedding experience with your closest family and friends? I would love to capture the occasion for you!
