Catalina Island, California Elopement

One of the many highlights of 2022 for me was traveling to California with my dear friend Shannon and getting to photograph this gorgeous Catalina Island elopement. The intimate wedding took place in this stunning location in April which is often a great time to get out of chilly and wet Oregon. Madisynn and Ryan were gorgeous and this felt like capturing a fairytale. The event was hosted and planned by The Shootout Society who did an amazing job with all of the details. Florals were done by Crimson Floral Co, Madisynn’s hair and makeup was done by Dolled Up OC, and her dress was from BHLDN. The couple stopped in at restaurants for celebratory drinks, then hung out at the beach club on the island as the sun started to go down. After the ceremony and photos around the island, the couple shared a beautiful and delicious picnic on the beach provided by The Picnic Collective. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day.

I just can’t get over how fun and fabulous this springtime elopement was, and I ended up falling in love with Catalina Island while there. Shannon and I spent extra time there exploring the island by golf cart and boat. We took a boat tour to get a different perspective and saw so much wildlife. I will be doing a post with photos from the rest of our time on the island soon too.

Elopements have become my favorite occasions to photograph and I love getting to explore different locations to capture them. Want to get married at Catalina Island or another beautiful location? I would love to meet you there! While Oregon Coast elopements will always have my heart, I absolutely love a getaway for an intimate wedding occasion.

Heidi Heaphy Photography is currently booking 2023 elopements, intimate weddings, and other portrait sessions.
