Cannon Beach Elopement {Allison & Christian}
Allison and Christian’s Cannon Beach elopement was one day after this Cannon Beach elopement and the back-to-back days show just how you can never truly predict the weather at the Oregon Coast, but it will be beautiful no matter the weather. I absolutely loved this day with Allison and Christian on the first day of fall. They traveled from Atlanta to get married in Cannon Beach with their close family and friends traveling from all over the country to be by their side.
I first met Christian and his mom at Ecola State Park where he and Allison were going to share their first look. It was windy and rainy and they were just so happy to be getting married that you would never know the weather wasn’t ideal. Christian said they wanted that Goonies scene and they definitely got it. We then ventured a bit into the forest at Ecola and then drove down to the beach for some photos before their guests arrived.
One unique aspect of their wedding was that Allison and Christian rented a charter bus for their guests. Since everyone was from out of state, they stayed in the Portland area and then bussed to the coast for the wedding. This meant that guests didn’t have to worry about navigating or parking and I think it was absolutely brilliant.
When the charter bus arrived, the bride and groom went to meet their guests and gathered around talking, snuggling to stay warm, and taking photos. The ceremony was right on the beach near Haystack Rock and was so heartfelt with lots of laughter, lots of tears, and even a “Best Couple” Dundie. I’m always a fan of The Office fans! Christian covered Allison in his jacket as the rain fell and it was a gorgeous rainy wedding day on the Oregon Coast.
After the ceremony, guests got back on the charter bus for a reception dinner to be held in Portland. I love how everyone was so happy and in good spirits despite the weather. Some of the guests were seeing the Pacific Ocean for the very first time. Hopefully the beauty will bring them back on a warmer visit in the future.
